  Hazard of public bus at   Dhaka city. 

Public buses in Dhaka city pose a significant hazard to the people who use them. Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh and is one of the most densely populated cities in the world, with an estimated population of over 21 million people. The public transportation system in Dhaka is inadequate, with the vast majority of the population relying on buses to get around the city. Unfortunately, these buses are often poorly maintained, driven recklessly, and overloaded with passengers, making them a significant hazard on the city's roads.

One of the primary hazards of public buses in Dhaka is their poor maintenance. Many of these buses are old, and their owners often do not invest in their upkeep. The buses' engines are often poorly maintained, leading to breakdowns and accidents on the road. Sometimes many busses are blocking the roads .The brakes are also a common problem, with many buses lacking proper maintenance, which increases the risk of accidents.

Another hazard of public buses in Dhaka is reckless driving. Many drivers of these buses drive at high speeds, take risky turns, and do not follow traffic rules. They are often under pressure to reach their destinations quickly, leading them to take shortcuts, drive in the wrong lane, or ignore traffic signals. This reckless behavior puts the passengers, other drivers, and pedestrians at risk of accidents.

Overloading of passengers is also a significant hazard of public buses in Dhaka. The buses are often filled beyond their capacity, with passengers standing in the aisles or even hanging on the outside of the bus. This overloading makes it challenging for the driver to control the bus, and it increases the risk of accidents. In the event of an accident, the overloaded buses pose a greater risk to passengers as they are more likely to suffer serious injuries.

Another major hazard of public buses in Dhaka is security issues. Passengers are often subject to theft, robbery, and physical assault while traveling on these buses. Female privacy issue is another main problem in public buses .The lack of security measures such as CCTV cameras, security personnel, and emergency buttons puts passengers at risk. Women and children are particularly vulnerable to these security threats, and their safety is often compromised during their daily commutes.

The Fifth major hazard of public buses in Dhaka is the environmental pollution they cause. The Public buses are typically old and poorly maintained, which results in high levels of emissions that contribute to air pollution and also create Noise pollution. These pollution has serious consequences for public health and the environment. Exposure to these pollutants can cause respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular diseases, and other health problems. Additionally, the pollutants emitted by these buses contribute to global warming and climate change, which has long-term consequences for the planet.

In conclusion, public buses in Dhaka city pose a significant hazard to passengers, other drivers, and pedestrians. The poor maintenance, reckless driving, security issue's and overloading of passengers are the primary factors contributing to the hazard. The government of Bangladesh and the private owners of the buses must take steps to address these issues to ensure the safety of the passengers and others on the roads. Improving the maintenance of the buses, enforcing traffic laws, and limiting the number of passengers on the buses are some of the measures that can be taken to reduce the hazard of public buses in Dhaka city...
